THEATER NIGHT~! "NATRAH"

   On the 3rd of December 2010, all of us went to Istana Budaya to catch "Natrah", the infamous musical theater performance at Istana Budaya! It was played the year before, but it was brought back by popular demand, starring people like Maya Karin and many more. We went to see it as an additional curriculum for our 'Language and Drama' course. 

   It was a great performance no doubt, and we would have loved to post pictures of the play here, but no cameras were allowed inside the "proceneum" type theater hall. Instead, we've posted here pictures of many of us taking pictures outside the hall. Since it was the first trip to Istana Budaya for many of us, it's safe to say many dressed to kill~ =)

FINAL PROJECT !!!

   During the first semester, all of us ASASI TESL students had to take up a course known as "College Study Skills" (CSS), where we diligently learnt the skills of being a college students. (surprise!)

   As the final assessment, all 6 groups had to organize an event worthy of attention. Thus, all of us geared our mind and soul to plan and conduct our own events. Plans had started being made since the early weeks of the semester, and personally we all witnessed epic fights and clashes between ideas among every group mate. Even so, it's all good debating and in the final weeks, everyone had done their events successfully~! XD

   Here are simply a few of the events done Oh, and since it was the month of Ramadhan, most groups did a... 'Ramadhan-y' event. :)

   Other than that, we also had students organizing Counselling Sessions, and 'Singgah Sahur', where students knock on the door of orphanage houses in the morning to provide food for sahur. :D

Japanese students exchange programme

   For the whole week starting from the 12th of August 2010, a group of Japanese students came to Intec to learn about life, have fun, indulge in our Malaysian culture, and eat our delicious food. And guess who were the ones responsible to take good care of them while they were here. It's our own ASASI TESL students~! (of course. if not, this post won't even exist here.) Hand-picked by Madam Nazeera, a handful of students were given the chance to mingle around with the Japanese as facilitators for their programme. All the while we talked about the difference in our culture, fashion, entertainment, a little bit of manganime, and we ate a whole lot of food together. :D weeee~

   Everyone with their happy faces registered for the programme at their respective colleges (Meranti for boys and Mawar for girls) on the 23rd of May, 2010. WE GOT ACCEPTED INTO UITM~! Wee~!

   Then, we had one full week of orientation, or Minggu Destini Siswa. The week was full of activities and tours around the UiTM main campus. The climax of the whole week was a speech by our vice chancellor at Kompleks Sukan UiTM.

InsyaAllah, the new 2010/11 "movers & shakers" -- Miss Sally, Farris Azere, Siti Nur Fadhilah & Muhd Mikhail --- will definitely deliver THE BEST they could in three hours.... hahahahahahahaha... :p

Dear Asasi TESL students

(1) Kindly be informed that there'll be a meeting on "Kajian Rintis Kepimpinan UiTM" for all Fac Edu lecturers this coming Monday, 22 November 2010 from 9.00 - 10.30 a.m. Hence, classes scheduled from 8.30 - 10.30 a.m. on the aforementioned date will be postponed to a later date. Afternoon/Evening classes are as usual.

(2) Be sure to attend the Special Briefing with representatives from Jabatan Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia this Tuesday, 23 November 2010 -- 9.00 - 11.00 a.m. at Dewan Kuliah INTEC. Since the briefing is COMPULSORY to all Asasi TESL students, all morning classes are postponed to a later date. Afternoon/Evening classes are as usual.

As the new semester is just around the corner, we wish to welcome everybody (in advance) for the Semester 2: Nov 2010 - March 2011.

A couple of things here:

(1) Course Registration will start today, 9 Nov 2011. The class list is here for reference.

(2) Classes will resume on Monday, 22 November 2010. We'll put up the class schedule before the end of this week.

(3) There will be a Special Briefing (for your degree application) with representatives from Jabatan Pengajian Tinggi, Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia on Tuesday, 23 November 2010 (9.00 - 11.00 a.m.) at Dewan Kuliah Intec.

The briefing is COMPULSORY for all students ---- only morning classes are postponed to a later date --- afternoon/evening classes will run as usual.

(4) Reading List(s) & Book Price will be posted soon --- still awaiting for confirmation from various book vendors.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR ALL ASASI STUDENTS (ALL CAMPUSES)

Assalammualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh & salam sejahtera.

Dear students, kindly be informed of all the following important reminders.

(1) MUET REGISTRATION
Kindly register for your MUET examination before the 16/6/10 at your own respective state education department (as individual candidates). The fee is RM60.00 per person. Your parents are allowed to register on your behalf. For further info, check out the details at www.mpm.gov.my (Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia).

Your MUET exam dates are as follows (we'll keep you informed of any changes in the dates):
- 12, 13 & 14 October 2010: Speaking Exam Session I
- 18, 19 & 20 October 2010: Speaking Exam Session II
- 13 November 2010: Written Exam (Reading, Listening & Writing)

(2) COURSE REGISTRATION
Make sure that all of you register for all your courses (it's COMPULSORY). Failure to do so will affect your ability to sit for your final exam. The last date for your course registration is on the 30/6/2010. Please send a copy of your course registration slip to the Main Office Counter (Shah Alam/Campus Coordinators) once you have completed the registration.

(3) LIBRARY VISIT (SHAH ALAM CAMPUS ONLY)
Your INTEC Library visit is scheduled on Friday, 11 June 2010 at 3.00 p.m. This library visit is COMPULSORY as the library staff will activate your library membership account. Please be at the main library entrance by 2.45 p.m. for your attendance.
