Asasi-ans need to talk (SPEAKER'S CORNER)

......especially when you are in the ASASI TESL programme, you (will) want to talk a lot. If talking was a crime, you would gladly be a criminal. :) So, to satisfy our hunger, most of our students spoke legally at the Speaker's Corner. Held at Dataran Cendekia every Tuesday night, from 8.30pm -10.30pm, (until now as this post is being updated), it is a weekly programme organized by the Debate Unit, Student Affairs & Alumni Division, UiTM. Aimed to get as many UiTM students to brave themselves to talk in public & boast their self confidence....we, the Asasians wouldn't want to be left behind.....

We proudly bring you (in pics...) a few of our very own Asasians who participated in the Speaker'sCorner. *applause*

hala tuju: because you are already in the education field, you have to become a teacher/lecturer. if you are unsure about becoming a teacher, you can take up Bach of linguistics or literature instead.
Throughout the course, you will be introduced to english components which include reading, writing, listening and speaking, grammar, drama, literature. will also have additional subj such as computer literacy in which u wil learn about, well, computers lah. malaysian studies in the first sem which is basically sejarah. wil also have agama islam paper. will be conducted 100% in english.
environment, english speaking world. lol. for sure in class, u have to get used with english. outside of class, lantak lah. :)

Dear Cik.Fyza

Our responses to some of your queries:

***we say: well, becoming a teacher/lecturer/educator is one sure thing but it's not the only option, of course. Our TESL undergraduates' track records (UiTM Tracer Study) proved that many of our TESL grads joined other fields such as the print & elctronic media (journalists, writers), run their own businesses, some are now diplomatic officers at Wisma Putra.... some continued their studies abroad (Masters + PhD)... to just name a few...

well, we're sure you've heard of Adibah Noor & Ana Raffali? ...they are our TESL grads too!

Having the right qualification is one thing...what you do with your qualification is another... :)

***we say: check out our previous post on the courses offered :) as lisa had reponded to you, yup, we offer all those courses .... and we ensure a fun learning environment.

I am currently waiting for the results of SPM and I am interested to take part in TESL course. I am still a little bit blank about the whole TESL situation ;
1) Honestly speaking, which Uni should I pick for the best TESL course?
2/ How many years of studies?
3)If I want to be a lecturer, whick path should I choose?

Thankyou :)
